Larson is one of the largest manufacturers of wood and aluminum storm doors in the United States. The company, which was founded more than 60 years ago, produces full-view, partial-view, and specialty storm and screen doors. All Larson products are produced in the United States.
The Purpose of Storm Doors
Storm doors offer a number of positive attributes, particularly for older homes. They can protect main entry doors from ice, rain, snow, and debris while providing an extra pocket of insulation that reduces drafts and boosts energy efficiency. Storm doors can also be used to improve light admittance into a home or increase ventilation. Many storm doors can also be locked and offer shatter resistant glass for security.
Full-view doors contain glass panels on the top and bottom halves. In other words, they are primarily made of glass contained within a thin frame. These doors can provide ventilation, come in one of seven colors, and can be purchased in a variety of widths and heights or customized as needed.
The only major difference between partial-view doors and full view doors is that partial-view options contain only half or two-thirds glass. In most cases, the lower panel of a partial-view door is solid aluminum or wood while the top panel is glass or screen.
Both full- and partial-view doors can be produced in just about any size and can be customized with a number of options that include pet doors, retractable screens, and decorative glass. Buyers can opt for low-e coatings or shatter-resistant security glass as well.
Larson storm doors come with a general lifetime limited warranty when made out of heavy-duty aluminum. Wood doors come with a ten-year warranty when they are aluminum clad and a five year warranty when vinyl clad. Door components come with a one-year warranty.
